Default Nos in LPG tank in an AU six?

Im just wondering? Can I run nos in an lpg tank ? I think this would be the ultimate stealth installation.
Can it be done??Flick a switch and turn the nos on?

Stav

No one that has a license to fill Nos would even dream of pumping it in to an LPG tank. Not to mention the nozzles to refuel it are totally different. Not to mention that to fill an LPG tank would be over $1000. Not to mention that it would probably cost more to install the LPG tank etc than it would to fit a standard Nos setup. Not to mention that it just scares me that this is even considered an option.

the way you *COULD* do it would be to get a LPG tank purged then cut a trap door into the tank and mount a standard NOS bottle in side the tank... AS far as lines and plumbing running from the tank it would be stealth.

Racecraft's idea FTW

Shouldn't be any/much more dangerous than a conventional LPG tank if the over-pressure valves etc are retained.

I have thought about it before!!

NOS is 24.3% heavier than LPG , the Regulator wouldnt hold up and you would be laughing , cos of the gas .. haha

While the Idea is there .. its one for the Bin Stav.

The only reason to have it as "stealth" is to use it on the street.. and thats just stupid to start with.

Racecraft's got the right idea.

I've also seen a dummy sub box that housed a bottle, with a couple of cheap subs thrown in to complete the illusion.

Just an idea guys..but Racecraft is talking some good ideas for it. So a bloke could hide a nos setup inside an lpg tank with the right plumbing and it would look ok. I asked because I suspected a car at the drags the other night claiming to be na.It was not a ford either. If he has done that then it is downright criminal. No one should try this at all. But it may be why he is running a great time.

Plenty of ways to do stealth installs, even in the engine bay it can be set up so it's undetectable.

You do realize that a nos bottle has to run from END to END in your car as the pick up is at the bottom of the bottle ... and a gas tank runs from SIDE to SIDE in a car
SO to have a gas tank big enough to get a 10 / 12 lb nos bottle in it ... you would be looking at about a 250ltr gas tank .

I have seen "boozka" sub boxs used as Nos bottles before ....
Years ago I cut up a Oxy bottle and put a 10' sub into it and painted it up to look like a nos bottle ... looked good and gave me the thump I wanted from the stereo

Ahaha.Maybe I am getting a bit suspicious for nothing then. How big is 250 litre tank physically?Would it fit in the rear of my wagon for example?

To give you a comparison, a 44 gallon drum is 200L. So bigger than that. Not exactly stealth.

^^^^^yeah, but then meraculously, he was able to take off when the cops showed up, pic vin up, dodge the cop-s and still manuver his way out of there only to get caught up in the ricer brigade try hards and then get his buzz box blown up with the nos?::just dont understand these hollywood types sometimes
oh and for the nos setup.....apparently under the passenger seat works well....false seat base you can hide 3 small bottles, regultors and taps.

Yep and that would last you all of about 15 / 20 sec if the bottles where heated to bring pressure up to 900psi
if they where about 650psi (normal) then it would last you about 5 / 10 sec

The only thing I agree with on Fast&stupid is when that guy said " Nos is not for Amateurs "
and when other people realize this the better ... they see it on t.v. and say Thats What I want to do to my car...... Fools

Haha, this reminds me about an old Sprint Car racing urban myth (I think it's an urban myth, bit too tall a story to be true...)

Story goes like this - a guy buys a second hand sprint car and initially does very well in it. The car is obviously fantastic because he's doing so much better than he has previously. After a few meets, his performances drop considerably, and the guy is completely stumped - one minute the car is a jet, the next minute it's a dud. Supposedly this car had a super stealth nitrous setup which include lines, small tanks hidden inside the cars roll cage which they found after stripping the car right down. The car eventually 'ran out' of Nitrous which led to it's sudden change in performance. Of course, this doesn't explain how they hid the lines to feed the gas into the engine itself, but why let that get in the way of a good story?

if you want it to go faster get a turbo or a blower and leave the NOS alone
