Afternoon People, Can someone give me a tip how to extract the trip computer from the dash of an EBII fairmont. I have the Gregorys manual but it doesn't help me. (It has helped most things I do with this car). I've tried prising it out but the car is in great nick and I don't want to force anything. The reason I want to get to it is the light has died and I need to replace it. (incidently another process not covered in the workshop manual). Any tips will be appreciated. Cheers, purnong1

You have to remove all the facias in the dash:- The instrument cluster surround, radio surround and the trip computer surround.
There is a tutorial on installing a trip computer on the ford mods website, this will show you how to remove it. If you do a search on trip computers in the e-series forum, then you will undoubtably find a thread about it, with a link to the fordmods tutorial. EDIT - Or I could just find it for you... :P http://fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=82 You have to be a fordmods member to access it though

Do it very carefully, it dosen't want to go anywhere. I busted mine up getting it out. Luckly the buyer was understanding. That's removing it from the facia that is.
