Default Streering rack question??

hey all,,

i just had a new steering rack fitted by ford on my AUII xr6 vct, which is still under warranty (only had it one week), the main problem being the power streering switch S&^T itself so ford in all their wisdom fitted a whole new rack. Not that i care as i dont have 2 pay a sent. Ony problem is that when i'm sitting still at the lights and i turn my steering left 2 right i can hear a light click sound. sounds like a relay being switched on and off.

is this normal!! ur input is needed,,,thanks a bunch!!!

Yes thats quiet normal all 6cyl falcons do it, it's the pressure switch tells the ecu to up the idle to give less steering effort and stops possible stalling.

interesting. never once heard that click in my AU but it always idled a little higher when turning the wheel on the spot.
would the lack of clicking be a sign that something is on its way out? (had the car from 40000km-103000km, never clicked once)
