Fair call you have made your point but what perentage of forum members in aufalcon.com read street commodores or even care?(SFA) Most of us just enjoy driving & modifying our Au's. If what you said is true & I don't doubt it obviously you have some solid knowledge about engine mods, it would be fantastic if you could share that knowledge.

I've got a mate whose AU2 XR8 made pg 13 of BlueOval, and it only puts out 180 at the wheels. It's manual, and definitely no slug off the line. My auto can stick with him, mostly, so they're not too sluggish, if the right engine is in front..

put simply, torque multiplication is referring to a converter's ability to multiply torque by means of maintaining rpm in the high torque mid HP range but also having good lockup.
Going too big in a converter will have a negative affect on torque multiplication. Going too small will also have a negative affect, however will at least load up the car. The two major things that affect torque multiplication can be the power the car is making on a given day, trans fluid temp thoughout the day. Relative altitude can affect the power, so its affects are far reaching. Generally a converter should be like a womans skirt. Only JUST big enough to do the job. |

I drove my vl at least every second day, it hung together because it was built to make that power. In any case, you couldnt use that much power on the street, so why wouldnt it last. Off boost it drives like a stock car. Chassis wise, it was also built not to twist. And ive never taken it to a dyno comp. You have no idea about performance cars, so unless you have something constructive to say and you know what your talking about, dont post. : |

^^^well if you're used to driving "1000 hp" cars then dont post complaining about an au3 having slow takeoff....of course its going to be slow compared to a 1000 hp car, especially given the power to weight ratio...so why don't you think before you post things?
