Started the Xr6 today and the airbag warning light stayed on.After restarting it its off but I assume something will need fixing in the near future.
Has anyone had to do any airbag maintenance and how much did it cost? Cheers Steve |

Sounds smart...
There is a diagnostic mode that stores fault codes in memory so the fault can be sussed out later - perhaps someone who knows it can post it up? Requires an LED and a couple of lengths of wire in the diagnostic harness |

Yep, my AU series one XR8 done the same thing. When I sold it the dealer had a mechanic look at it. He hit the cruise buttons and a few other things to get into diagnostic mode which told him it was some kind of airbag switch.
Sorry can't be of more help, it was two years ago. But the dealer didn't knock anything of the sale price as it was only a cheap part... |

It will be a faulty clock spring. Nothing to do with a clock, and no spring involved, but that's what it's called. I actually pulled mine apart and rebuilt it a few weeks ago (pulled apart by accident when changing steering wheels). No problems since then.
Get the diagnostics onto it - a faulty airbag won't go off, but that's the problem!

In my car the wires under the front passengers seats are uncovered, I have had the airbag stay on heaps of times usually after someone adjusts the front passengers seat position , usually i have to push the connector/wires back together a bit harder ( bit off a loose connection ) , but this is also something that makes the airbag light stay on - if you aren't getting a propper contact in those wires under the seats . cheers .
