Yes that's really annoying, But the 2 things that really irritate me, are people who can't merge onto a freeway, and slow down almost to a stop, holding every one else up behind them, and people who won't keep left.
A few nights ago, I was driving down the Melton Hwy through Taylors Lakes (Melb) and this stupid woman in a white VT was doing 65 in an 80 zone, she would not go in the Left lane forcing most people to pass her illegally on the left, I followed her for about 2-3Kms like this, then she finally moves into the Left lane just so she could turn left. Farmers! god bless them, but they always pull out of thier paddocks onto main roads with 100 speed limits and sit on 50 then wave to you as you pass them.

Dipsticks, who cannot assimilate that a roundabout replaced the give way to the right intersections.
Brain dead organisations,RACV, NRMA, RACQ preach how to drive through a roundabout. If you listened to them, there would be crashes every day. It is so simple: Give way to the right: How ####### easy is that. : : : |

when I did my HC a few years ago it was "give way to cars already on the round about" not who's on the right, I took that to mean if you cross that white line first you have right of way. |

Wall to Wall bitumen drivers, namely city folk. 99% would not have a clue how to drive. They learn from some Driving School, because the Govt says so. They then buy a heap of c### car, a kill thier mates and others.
I put this theory to the test in some years ago, and guess what? City drivers could not drive on gravel roads, through sand hills, on dirt roads and through water. Why, Because, they have a belief that learning to drive on wall to wall bitumen proves that they can drive. (sadly only in suburbia) Question: What doy you do, after driving for four hours from Melbourne and suddenly you find yourself with both off side wheels in the gravel? 1. Do you panic and brake instantly 2. Turn hard right 3. Controlled driving out of the gravel 4. Plant the foot and go for it 5. Flick the sterring wheel from one lock to the other, this will ensure you wake up your passengers in time to slide sideways into a tree |

In our local paper they reported on a road rage incident where some tourist was tailgating an F250 truck, in the end the F250 driver had had enough so the next intersection he stops reverses and drives up and over the tailgaters car...I think we've wanted to do something like this at one time or another....I know i would i hate tailgaters!

agree with you I think this is the cause of so many accidents, but speed seems to get the blame 99% of the time

What grinds my gears constantly is Camry drivers, and aspirational camry drivers. They're the ones who drive an echo, or a corolla or Yaris etc., but would like to one day drive a camry. They cannot do the speed limit, they jump on the brakes if a leaf blows out on to the road or a car pulls out of a driveway 300 metres ahead, they cannot maintain speed on the freeway and are remarkably magnetic for Indians and Asians.
How many of you have gone past a Camry that was doing 40 in a 60 zone only to see some little lady with a black dot on her forehead struggling to see over the steering wheel? Here's a challenge for Toyota, put some friggin' adjustable pedals and a real seat height position in a camry if you want sales, for otherwise you are only making the problem of your cardigan image worse. Soon it won't be the cardigan image, it will the turban image done in a power point presentation.

The only problem with people not doing the speed limit is when I have no room to overtake :
And I hate people who high beam me when I do happen to overtake them like I have done something illegal. If the road has broken lines and I have enough distance, fair game! _ Biggest offenders are you guessed it, CAMRY DRIVERS! I wish the cops would crack down on people hogging the right lane and doing under the speed limit as much as they do people who break the speed limit. |

Nothing in the book about give way to the right, although I agree everyone drives on that assumption. I always smile to myself when people who got to the roundabout first, still give way to me because I am approaching the roundabout to their right, but am still further away to the roundabout then they are. Very courteous people those. Dan |

yes but wouldnt giving way to who ever is in the round about first cause many problems since the majority would fly up the road to get to the roundabout first so they dont have to give way? Im all for the give way to right since i dont wanna be mid way in a roundabout then have some *** face T bone me cause he was speeding to get in first and couldnt slow down

what grinds my gears are people who should not be on the road in the first place, basically cause they've got no idea how to drive, yet somehow all these morons get given i license and then i have to drive on the road and the highway risking my life with these tools.
one other thing is suburu liberty drivers who have to drive around in broad daylight with there driving lights on.a few weeks back it seemed to be every second liberty on the road.why do they do this,is it to say look at me cause no one else will. |

Yeah i hate when you are driving around a curvey road and its 100k's, come across this old holden and they are sitting on 60k's, they had no side mirrors or anything, 30 mins later they decide to pull over to let me pass, which ironicly was at the beginning of a passing lane.. Grr..

Turn hard right and the car would probably roll, break hard and the two wheels on the gravel will lose traction. I'm guilty of not being able to keep to one speed going up and down hills, but i'm a learner |

My biggest gripe is young females with bottle blonde hair in their Mummy and Daddy funded Hyundai Getz talking on the mobile at the lights. They just have no idea of the dangers which face them.

On the topic of roundabouts. If you're giving way to those already on the roundabout then you are logically already giving way to the right automatically so basically same thing IMO.

A few of the many things I see daily:
*People who select say the left lane because there's less traffic in it when they know full well they have to turn right 300m up the road and then force their way into the right lane further ahead. Blackburn Rd/Princes Hwy/Westall Rd (southbound) in Clayton (Melb) is a good example. People choose the middle lane to turn left and therefore be in position for the right turn lanes further along. You see people move from the middle lane to the left and then force their way across to turn right making the people who have done the right thing avoid them and slow down. *Again Blackburn Rd near Wellington Rd (southbound). Sign says left lane ends 200 mtrs. Normal people choose middle lane to go straight ahead, the rest drive all the way up the left lane and push in taking full advantage (and then some) of the 2 lanes into 1 rule (car in front has right of way". I've seen a few do this from the left turn lane 20 metres from the lights. There used to be a sign that said "left lane must turn left" - but some idiot had it changed. There's too much of people knowing full well they have to merge and they pass as many cars as possible before "kamikaze merging" (changing lanes and expecting everyone to make way would be a more accurate description) *People who take until the next intersection to reach the speed limit. They take off slow in a car that is capable of much more and 2km later they might get within 10km of the limit. I'm not expecting anyone to set any acceleration records for their car, but 0-70 in 1000 metres isn't good enough! Especially when the limit is 80! *People who wait 5 seconds when they get the turn arrow before moving off when the time allowed for traffic at that intersection is limited already. There's a queue that has already missed the last sequence and when you're 4th in line and miss the lights because of these people is annoying - you have to wait another couple of minutes unnecessarily. *People who indicate to turn at the lights after they have been sitting there a while. I'll elaborate - A small 2 lane each way intersection where after the lights it merges back to 1, so you choose the right lane to go straight ahead unless there is someone wanting to turn right, then you choose the left lane. Sometimes you pull up and the person in front appears to be going straight. The lights go green, then they indicate and get stuck behind them for most of the sequence. If I knew that earlier I would have picked the other lane and been on my way. *People who persistently talk on hand held mobiles. While illegal, answering a call and telling someone "I'm driving, will call back" is probably the next best option, but you see some people driving kilometre after kilometre with that phone to their ear, usually driving worse than usual.
