Default Farewell AU guys and gals

its been almost 5 months to the day since all my dramas began - search for farewell au falcon

anyways i decided to trade in on a 06 BF falcon XR6 - they wouldnt do me a good enough deal on a blue one so i took the silver

anyways i will hopefully join the AU side again eventually but the high klms and higher prices for them put me off

at least its still a ford

long live the AU Falcon - the ugly (very nice looking in S3) brother that made the Bseries

Never been one to follow fads so you'll have to do this without me :

Dosn't work, if someone sells 1 then someone buys one, so the new fad could be buying AU's

Good on you!
You will be spewing you didn't do it much earlier and realise just how outdated and ugly the AU actually is when you don't have a biased opinion about them once you start driving the new Xr around........ Trust me, I was a 1 eyed AU lover till i got my BA ghia, then the tornado, now the AU's gone and forgotten, out of sight, out of mind!

when youve had the car ALMOST written off, repaired and told only if safe to do so, then after 5 months of taking it back and pushing and yelling and fighting and now to hear that we cant prove that certain things were accident related we (insurance company) arent gonna cover you.....i think you would have a good chance in selling the AU

P.S. dont take offence i was only getting into it because of how much i hate my insurance company right now

and i only got a BF because it had the right price, they gave a good trade (considering) it had rear power windows and a working horn and cruise control....plus an extra 33kw :P

EDIT: ill still wear my AUFALCON tshirt with pride... and certain parts will become available...maybe for free

Plus there's a bazillion of them out there.

I know it's heresy but I'm actually beginning to like the look of the VE. IMO it makes the current Ford range look their age.

I dunno that I'll change over just yet but in any event I will also buy an AU XR8 as a keeper. Nothing else looks like them ;)

edit:... other than an AU XR6, lol

You had such an outstanding example of an AU, now , "What do you drive again" and "Why are you here"? Sure, you don't miss it at all! : tugga!

Good luck with the B series XR6 mate, they are a very good package, a bit beefy but still a very capable vehicle.

Cheers.

It is very unfortunate as to what happened to an otherwise immaculately maintained and presented Venom AUIII.

How about let us fix your spelling and grammatical expression so the post might actually make sense first? I don't follow instructions which are poorly written and expressed as they are meaningless in intention and interpretation.

That's better. Actually the AU modifications scene is looking quite healthy at the moment so even in edited form the post is poorly researched. Many here are either long term AU owners, multiple AU owners or have had a multiple of AU's over a period of time.

S3SR has certainly got legitimate reasons unto his own for going forth with the BF. I cerainly hope touch wood that it doesn't get snuffed out by traffic and that it does fulfil his motoring needs without any further dramas. Congratulations on the purchase S3SR.

Must be the colour Rob. The green faded into Mellow yellow. :

I don't blame him for selling. After having the accident, then follow up drama's it definatley going to feel like the car is not all it should be. He'd be worrying about it's safety, and if it was me, get a good deal, move onto something newer. The car was a great example of how clean the ugly car can be. Having that accident, I'm sure it never felt that way again.

Also Dark Horse, in your 'edited edition' you still mis-spelt FAD...it doesn't have an 'E' on the end. Perhaps a 're-edited edition' is needed? :

Just stirring is all. :

The BF and BA xr's arn't a bad car. But having said that, there are so many of them, I reckon there would be more 2003-2007 XR6's then XT's on the road.

That's what I don't like about my parents B-Series... sure its more powerful, but doesn't feel like a "drivers" car. One day I will own an BAXR6 though... I can tell.

Congrats on the purchase
