Default Ode to the AU

Well ........ finally, something majorish has gone wrong with my AU XR8 sedan. At 127000kms the radiator decided to check out, $250 later all sweet. I can't fault the all round reliability of the AU though to be honest, everytime i think i may cash it in and upgrade, i think ....... its a great car cost me nearly nothing on top of usual maintainance + fuel costs, and therefore, i can not part with it.

And only reason the radiator cracked is basically is my wife has the A/C on 100% of the time she drives, and its aways hot around our area.

So this thread is kinda useless i guess as i havent asked a question, but say good things about your AU in your comments.

Peace out

I see you parents taught you well "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". LOL. But seriously, it's got a Windsor in it, just like mine. And so I know you mean that there's SFA that needs to be said!

Gotta love 'em great cars.
After training the aftermarket on the AU and BA range of cars Fords in general are just misunderstood.

Clock up another vote for manual and black here.

I'll like my AU even more when I can afford to get all the rest of the turbo bits I need.

must say that my black 3 speed n/a auto XE was quick off the mark, even my missus loved driving it, maybe red appears to go faster, but black IS faster! all in all, i love my au (even though i was hesitant in buying my first one because of the bad wrap they got when they first come out). theres something about it that i just cannt put my finger on that makes it so damn appealing!

Lovely photo, Fella!! My AU has given me no hassles that weren't a result of something I did, so I think it is a very reliable car in my case but I've heard some horror stories about AUs and also B-series cars on this forum.

I'd say so.

Mine went at 124,000km.

Mind you, so did a few other things... namely cooling based...

Apart from the overheating issue ... it's been great.
