Hey people.
I had disconnected my battery to give the system a reset on my '99 ser 1 fairlane. After an hour i connected it up and saw on the speedo display "fair". Does this mean that its not feeling well or needs some TLC? Ford told me that it was for taxi packs, and my lane did come from QLD. They said to hold the odometer for 3 seconds with the key on and it will go away. It did but i was wondering if anyone else had seen this before as i would really like it to read "im going ****** hot" Well "good" anyway.

Yes it is fairly common. You turn the ign on and it goes through a self check and after waiting a few seconds turn the ign completely off and then try again and you should have the normal odo reading displayed. sort a like the "welcome to windows" when you reboot your computer.

Mine does the same thing. I used to think it said "fail" until I looked closer one day.
