Default Exhaust Price?

Hey guys and girls

Ive booked into get a:

2.5" Redback Exhaust with one muffler
Pacemaker Comps

I was quoted $700 Cash installed by a exhaust mob in geelong and i though it sounded a bit to cheap but not sure.

Question is how can i make sure he is putting in these products and that the exhaust is mandrell bent. Is there labels/engravings on the product that i can look for.

On another note what are non xr people doing about cams becuase my next mod to my au3 forte was going to be a cam and edit and was wondering who people are going through and the type of results they are getting.

Thxs Jake

headers = 350
exhaust = 350
sounds abou right

pacemakers got a small plarque on top of of the headers on cyldinder 4 or 5 (AFAIK)

mandrel bend can easily be identified by the bends not being squashed

redback exhaust as such does not have any labelel as the sections are just premade section which then get welded together

My exhaust cost me $1800, pacies headers(CC), hotdog, muffler, mandrel bend stainless 2.5 inch - custom system.
As to tell if its a mandrel bend, the bend has to be smooth and the bend itself has to be consistent. Its easy to tell if it has or hasnt been mandrel bended...

SS exhausts are about 50% more expenseive straight up, plus making it custom takes a bucket load more time, hence more expensive once again

min of 4 to 5 years

yes u can paint them, however most fo the paint burns off if u paint section before the car due to excessive heat. The exhaust place we use for our business ALWAYS paints the exhaust and welds with heat proof paint. not only looks good, but lasts longer.

The price sounds good to me.

I paid $330 last week for a Redback 2.5 cat back installed. That was with 2 mufflers though. The tip was a bit extra.

I thought pacemakers were around the $400 mark, but that sounds like a good deal to me. iIve never bought extractors though, so others may like to comment on this one.

Why are you only going for the single muffler?

Hope you dont mind me joining in.... I just got quoted $1133 for pacemaker ph4499's, metalcat highflow cat, 2.5" mandrel bent piping with resonator at the front and muffler at the rear. Because mine is factory lpg the guy said they didnt have a bolt on system and had to do all piping and what not. So does this sound like a resonable price

that price includes a new cat, cats are around the 250 to 350 mark depending on type and brand. i assume the 700 system was reusing the old car, which is not too uncommon

Mild or stainless?
I would ceramic coat the headers though.

are the factory gas au's straight-gas like the ba's? i'm pretty sure that would mean you don't need a cat. i've got a straight gas system going on at the moment and was told i can remove the cats but still need to confirm it officially.
