Sounds like a good for all the guys. VE commies pulling mid 14's after all the hype is a dissapointment.
Might see whoever at next weeks meet. Some tough sixes should be getting up there. I cant run as I am totally untuned..I like to watch anyway ..

its very interesting.13.9 for the gtp is right on the money for the stockers I have seen down there. The vl' turbos are definately the quickest ..they run nissan turbos!!

I would have thought that was obvious, because you will sh!t yourself the first time you race.

Nothing like it actually, careful though, it can be addictive...

WHAT!!!!!!!! You going to give it a run, nah...... your kidding right.

Only joking, hopefully see you there but if you do go get there early (4.30/5pm) as the last few meets have been rained out and guessing it will be quiet busy tomorrow.

The adrenalin runs high, it is a great buzz.

There is only one better/bigger buzz......Go to wakefield pk or eastern creek and do a circuit day..............Now that is addictive

i think we all know the chances of me going are slim . if i go it will be a spontaneous decision . but if i do . what do i need to do . and how much does it cost . so far i know i need a helmet, long pants, long sleeve shirt, sneekers, registration papers . then what ?

i would be nervous , because 1 , it's a manual; and 2 , i'm inexperianced.

To get a good reaction time should I let the clutch out when the last orange light goes out? Or is there a better method?

WELL I WENT ALONG, AS A SPECTATOR , WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD SON.
i saw "QUADCAMS" do 2 runs 12.4 and 12.5 . well done .

i now know for a fact that somethings wrong with the way holden performance vehicles are marketed and complimented over fords by all the media .
i seen 2 manual SS VE sedans . they pulled a 14.4 and 14.2 respectively . my 6 year old son who is beyond his years in motoring . commented , he said dad . i thought the ve's were faster than fords . put it this way a vy ss done 3 runs (manual ) all 14.4 sec passes . i saw one GTP MKII man . do one pass only at 13.8

the fastest v8 holdens were 5 litre vt's doing 12's modded of course . and xr8's all doing 12's modded of course. nearly every xr6t . does 11's th
ey are obviously no doubt the performance bang for your buck car of the year. the fastest commadores are vl turbos. lots of v8s doing between 14 and 16 seconds, so 13 second stock v8s are fast . the MKII GT sounded great and was going hard and had plenty more after the 1/4 mile . the VE SS's were nothing over a VY SS.

one thing worried me a vl sedan going straight just lost it 1/2 way down the straight . dont know how he missex the wall ( lucky drive) if that had of been me in the GT , I'd be at westmead on a heart monitor now .
seen lots and lots of immaculate FPV's HSV's , IN THE CAR PARK , with trailers on the back for the MAZDA RX4's and XD 351's . with roll cages . and on the strip holdens outnumber fords about 5 to 1 . HQ's and VT's versus cortinas and BA XR6T's.

but late model ford v8s ARE NO DOUBT IN FRONT OF holdens. from what i seen . and yesterdays stockies doing 15 and 16 sec passes have definately been eclipsed .
the reason i am mid 14 second passes for v8's which no ford v8 less than 10 years old did, is becuase xt's were doing 15 flat . anyhow thats my rant . and ford v8s all done under 14 . those that were there tonight . no vy vz or ve did . heads up ford

HOLDEN SUCK . from what i seen .

but i did enjoy the night . anything under 14 secomnds was bloody fast really . and anything in low 11's is bloody phenominal .

Was not a good night, the track conditions was total crap, second pass was the wildest run I have ever done to date, fish tailing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd was fun in that respect but no good for Et's, dont think I will be going to to many wednesday street meets in the future.

That GTP has a V2 s/c intercooled and built motor by Intune someone correct me if Im wrong has about 450+rwkw from memory, second pass did a 12.9@110 and they seemed pretty happy with that, so it wouldnt be a good comparison to the ve's. Trust me I have seen ve ss's on the dyno and at the track, they are quick there's no doubt about that.

I have seen plenty of 450rwkw dyno sheets out of Intune Motorsport, but have never seen any timesheets near 10 seconds.

They look pretty at car shows though.

Being a manual and with a heavy boss in the front with good power doesnt help at all to show there true colours.
