Yeah, I'd sell mine and get either an XR6T or an FPV. You did say if you had the money...
Also, what is the difference between option's 3 and 4? If I had to pick an option I'd go twin turbo (not sure if this has been done has it?). |

Single Turbo. Twin turbos doesn't mean twice the power - usually it means 2 smaller turbos, and was initally used in turbo applications to reduce lag. An I6 4.0 motor with a GT35/40 turbo does not tend to have much lag, so twin turbo is not really required, and you can actually get more boost & power from a single turb application these days anyway - twins are too hard to tune properly. Of course, a twin setup for a V8 just makes sense, from a symmetry point of view, but is still not required - one big single will do the job, but results in masses of odd snakey exhaust piping.

Seriously... save your money. It's not legal, no insurance, can't drive it. If your car was purely for track work or shows etc, then maybe it would be a different case. It's not worth it.

Dude, alot of the kits these days (supercharging kits anyway) already comply with ADRs. As long as you have it installed professionally or do it correctly at home, then get an engineer to have a gander, there is no reason at all that it cant be completely legal. Insurance is only a matter of how much you are willing to pay anyway. Like, in my situation, for the changeover to a nice xr6t, i could buy the supercharger kit, pay the engineer, and at least half pay for the engine mods (i would rebuild another motor from the ground up). I would probably come out the other end with more power than a stock XR6T and be a hell of alot more comfortable (and a nice street sleeper ) considering im starting from a fairlane. -Michael

LG has a wise answer there. Go further and invest. Buy a house, shares even.

I would definitely supercharge it. I have always wanted to do it! As has been mentioned, almost instant power from take off. You may not be able to go as far as you would with a turbo, but how far would you want to go anyway? Then there is my favorite reason, its DIFFERENT! Go for it dude!!!
