Looking for any advice for cheap cosmetic mods to be made for my 1999 Congo Green AU Forte sedan, i have already changed the toothy grille for a XLS model that i scored for $40 bucks and i got a bargain at the recycle yard the other day, mint condition AU fairmont tailights for $10 the pair!!! I couldn't get the money out of my wallet fast enough!!!
I am a newbie here so any suggestions!!!! (P.S.....Rick Kelly should trade places with Saddam Hussein!) ha ha |

Cheap cosmetic mods?
Paint the mirror scalps body colour... same for the bump strips... Clear side indicators cost about $15 from Ford and make a huge difference Really this question comes up every week or so and the answer is always the same... your definition of what looks good, and your definition of cheap are completely different to someone elses. Also you need to spend money for it to look the goods |

Depends on your definition of cheap?
Clear indicators, mirrors painted body colour, removal of some of the badging, factory alloys, tinted windows.

thanks for that, just anything to make it stand out a bit from other AU's! Do E series rims fit AU's or do they have different offsets? Why i ask is that i have the chance to purchase a set of 16 x 7 EF XR8 alloys and i just want to check to see if they fit before wasting my money.

Nar mate E-series rims won't fit the AU, I think they stick out a fair bit? Offset is close to 0 for E-series and 36ish for AU. Your looking for AU1 onwards (including BA) rims for your Forte...

Whats dear about a AU Series 1 ? You can do some very cheap mods. Best mods for an AU is either try and make it look better (especially an Series 1), or give it some poke.

Anyway, back on topic i have seen you bought some fairmont tailights. Nice buy, i paid 80 bucks. You can get some clear side indicators, i paid $35 off ebay, but these guys probably know of cheaper ones.

i rang Ford and they reckon they are only $20 each for series 2 clear indicators, seems to be cheaper then Ebay when you consider postage!

Give your brake calipers a coat of VHT paint, you'd be surprised how much difference it makes to the appearance of the car.
I'm in the process of doing a doco for the aufalcon site.
