Default Some Good Bargains Around!

Gee there are some good bargains around at the mo!

Check out this 98 Xr6

It'd be a great car for one of the gang up North!

Seems like a bargain alright, but what exactly does 'Finance Owing / Encumbered' mean under 'type of title'?

They still owe money on the car to a bank or some one like that.

At least they still have good taste

That's what I thought it meant, so presumably that makes it less of a bargain if you'd have to keep paying that, or is that the seller's responsibility?

You ask them to get a payout figure from the finance company for the date you wish to complete the purchase (say 31 August). Then when you pay for the car, you give them a cheque made out to that finance company for the amount they say they owe, and you give them the balance. If the amount you are paying is less than the amount they owe, make sure you get a receipt from the fincance company to show that the whole loan has been paid out before you pay them any money!

thats the sellers responsibility. basically if you buy the car with money owing they have to pay it out...well you have to make sure they do, before you buy it...because if they stop the payments...well say goodbye to the car, the finance company will take it and sell it to recover as much as they can on the balance owing.

it doesnt matter if you are the owner of it, it'll still get taken

thats why REVS is in place so if you are buying a car it will tell u if it still has money owing on it
