Default How to tell your AU has been chipped?

Hey,

Is there anyway to tell if your AU has been chipped? Like how and where do you look because I have absolutely no idea!

Cheers
Luke

Hi and welcome to the forums.

One good indicator is a list of other mods that have been done to your car.

eg. You more then likely don't have a chip or ECU flash if you have a stock exhaust and exhaust manifold...

Don't Forget to check out the performance sticky!

Look at the area in question and if you can see undercoat or bare metal, it has been chipped.

Oh.....wait.......

My AU is an auto and one thing I have noticed is the car always seems to act as if it is always running in performance mode when set to economy mode as the gears are held for longer. It feels just like my EL did when in performance mode gear shift wise.

Actually, when I select performance mode in my AU I dont really notice any difference in the gear shift pattern. I was thinking maybe the switch isnt working properly or maybe this is the result of the car being chipped or something?

More likely the switch isnt working, or your driving the car hard.

The 'Econ' light does turn on and off when pressing the switch.

I dont drive the car too hard.. just give it a squirt now and then.

pull the bloody ecu out, have a look at the J3 port, if theres a plain black plug there, then your not chipped, if theres a chip with chiptorque etc writtn on it, then you r chippped
