Hey all, I'm wondering if any of you wise AU people are able to enlighten me on what an AU 'Gruppe A' is.
I came across an old mate from 30+ years ago, who tells me he has one, and is talking it up. However, when he showed me the pics I told him it looked like a base model Falcon/Forte/Futura with an aftermarket body kit. He is insisting it's something special, and showed me a couple of pics with a badge on the bootlid and front guards that say 'Gruppe A'. This is just some kind of marketing thing from an aftermarket bodykit company, right?

I'm almost certain 'Gruppe A' was one of the names/brands used by the late Wayne Draper (ex Ford Designer) when he set up his own business. Along with Phase Autos and (HO) Homologated Options.
Can't find any mention of it on the remaining websites though. See http://hofalcons.com/index.html Some interesting content on there.

Yep, there is a reference; http://hofalcons.com/about01.html
Under Brief Occupational Résumé 1993 Gruppe A Chief Designer, CEO I don't know whether your mates Falcon is anything special, but yes, I would consider that the body kit is. Cheers, Raptor

Cheers guys.
Unfortunately it had an argument with Skippy and I don't think the front bar is original.
