Hey guys and girls. Apologies if I make any mistakes, typing off an iPhone that is lagging badly!
Just wondering what RPM the VCT activates/deactivates at, what power source/voltage it requires... In trying to get it wired up properly in the EF before the AFF dyno day, so any info would be good! Cheers

From dim dark memory - activates 3,000rpm, triggered by tach signal via ECU.

it is far more complex than that. the signal comes from the ECU but engine speed is only one factor of many that control the VCT. if you used an AU series 1 VCT ECU ( with some rewiring) you should be able to get the ECU working correctly and as they both use smartshield the problems should be minimal. if you have smartshield dramas you can get a module to disable it

if getting it up and running is a problem ,from what i`ve seen the vct method of advancing the cam actually looks quite simple, while the oem factory trigger mechanism may be complex, it`s oil pressure controlled by the solenoid/sensor hanging off the front of the head(please correct me if i`m wrong), i`m thinking it would`nt be to hard to have it triggered by something else, if you where going down that path, after market ecu or some other sensor? vacuum perhaps?
