A DJR GP is a sweet car, and IMO will be interesting to watch its value given Dick wont be racing for ever and its basically what the XR6T is now (with a bit more flair).

It would have some collectablilty though, wouldn't it? It does have some pretty good factory options from factory.

Be doing well to get $5k. While the seats, rims and steering wheel are nice they dont add that much value, and the only "DJR" thing about it is the delivery docket...

At that price he could have bought some self tappers
and held the steering collumn cover together instead of black tape or even got another one if the screw holes are stripped it was a common prob on XFs I know first hand and yes if it was the turbo model it would sell in an instant pity Dick didnt go that way John |

Not collectable?
Ummmm.... ok if you think that Dick Johnsons ex personal car which is unmolested etc ... isnt collectable? ooook. Probably not worth $15g however, but still it appears to be all orginal (complete with factory sterio, hope it works!) and certainly will never find one again like it?

Brown interior yuk. Horrid.
Is this thing a turbo, cause I don't remember the airflow meter being over the exhaust side on the XF. I thought the intake piping went over the top of the rocker cover and come onto the passenger side? Nice recaros though. |

I just remembered the airflow meter on the other side for some reason, maybe because I remember my brothers XF Ghia from over a decade ago but that was on LPG, which is maybe why it was on the other side, due to the conversion. |

I do however think $5000 is more realistic than $15000. He obviously doesn't want to sell it as it has been on carsales etc for years. The market says $15000 is way too much. If the seller doesn't want to lower the price, then respect the market and remove it from sale.

Furthermore, if it wasn't owned by DJ, $2500 - $3000 would see it out. The seats aren't original and neither is the sunroof as they were not factory options in XFs. The tape around the steering column and worn steering wheel would turn me off, together with the non factory paint. Still a nice straight XF.

Seeing that i am currently looking for an XE at the moment, my thoughts are that yes it is over priced, but having said that, 2-3k seems a bit low ball. The car looks great, has great wheels, a sunroof, nice paint, the whole DJ link means nothing value wise to me, it may to others though. Id say around the 7k mark. But its entirely dependent on one thing, a willing buyer.

The colour is not a colour the that came out on xf's, but back then you could request fleet colors such as Diamond White (Qld. Police) Gilbarco Blue just to name a couple, this would have been an extra cost item. I remember seeing this car at the back of the pits at Surfers International Raceway back in November 1985 for the Surfers 300. I think I might even have a photo of this car some where. It had DJR 17 number plates and was something to drool over then and it didn't have the xr6 headlights on it back then. Dick was racing the green Mustang back then, I think he replaced this xf with a Black Sierra as a personal car. Members keep commenting on the price, Hypethetically, what would a 1985 VK group A Commodore(or that hatchback one he brought over from Germany) owned By P. Brock would be worth in simular condition and simular options?
