I think its time to change the master cylinder on my AU1 wagon as the brakes have failed a couple of times now,but i have been told that the sedan master cyilnder is different to the wagon.
I already have an el sedan master cylinder on a spare car i have and just wondering will this effect the braking if i used it? Thanks.

The brake ratio is slightly different and there are bore diameter considerations.

Stick with the right one, the braking system is set up to balance front against rear and if you use the wrong cylinder you can upset that balance causing erratic braking. You might not notice it at first but in an emergency stop in the wet you might end up anywhere

Physically they are the same (dimensions, bore sizing) but the proportioning valve is different (split point).
Sedan is 2.5 MPa and wagon 4 MPa I believe (or is it the other way around) Either way the split point will be stamped into the end of the master cylinder. Cheers
