I think its just anything they deem to drastically improve power, obviously chargers, any internal work (cam's, stroker kits etc) They also dont seem to be huge on serious on big intake mods because its obvious to look at. But thats all i know really. The way i see it, dont mod anything, keep on the cops good side and you dont have anything to worry about. Its only a couple years, then V8!!!!!!! |

Sorry to tell you this but technically you can not do anything that increase power to the car.
What are the criteria for a probationary prohibited vehicle? A probationary prohibited vehicle is a vehicle that: has an engine with eight cylinders or more, or has an engine that is turbocharged or supercharged (except diesel vehicles, all Smart models, Suzuki Cappucino and Daihatsu Copen). There are also some lower powered turbocharged or supercharged vehicles which have been exempted and can be operated by a probationary driver who has been given an exemption by VicRoads has an engine that has been modified to increase the vehicle's performance (other than a modification made by the manufacturer in the course of the manufacture of the vehicle, or a nominated high performance six cylinder engine. http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/...hiclesFAQs.htm |

See this is where the loop hole is, According to the police 2.5 inch extractors don't count as an engine modification (friend called them as he bought a BA xr6 with 2.5 headers and sports exhaust) , so does that include the air intake, transmission and everything else? FYI red P's |

Just learn how to drive. Why do you think any car is not up to the standard of your inexperienced driving?

I think it will come down to the cop that pulls the car over. Some may follow the letter to the law and some may not worry about it. But according to Vic roads website. Anything to increase engine power is illegal.

Then custom exhaust would be illegal because they give you a few extra KWs
