Default BA Ghia Rims on AU

Hi All,

Anyone got a pic of BA Ghia rims on an AU1 Wagon?

If not, can anyone do a photochop for me?

Great looking wheels the BA Ghia's IMO. A mate of mine had a set on a dark green S2 Fairmont wagon, and it looked fantastic!

I'll ask him if he has a pic still.

Hey GK, sorry mate, but my friend has no pics unfortunately!

I'm sure though that between your wagon photo, and mattp's side on shot, somebody with some photoshop skills could do it pretty easily for you!

Like this??? Bit of a joke really......I must like changing wheels hey.....,but yeh it will give you an Idea what it may look like.
SR wagons have sports suspension so it sits abit lower than stock wagon hieght.

It had these on it,
now its got these on it>
its started life with these....
It even had these on it at one stage............

Great shots there indeed.

The BF 18s (I think that's what they are!) are the best by a country mile! The third photo! Oh Yeah. I think Evan's got these hasn't he? They look magnificent on his car.

The Ghia rims look okay, but not as nice as I thought they would.

Cheers,

GK

I'm not much for photoshop, but maybe this will help...

Excuse the 4WD style suspension! I'm a huge fan of these rims though, sometimes I think I should have kept them!

MattP, no worries about the 4wd suspension. Have another look at my wagon! LOL!

HLC, Daniel is always up to something isn't he? LOL!

Justin, that pic would be great if your mate has any.

Cheers all,

George

As has been said, go the BA XR rims. Its like they were designed for the AU.

But then again, I'm biased.....

Mine are 17s, not 18s.

Hey George, I shrunk my photo to 50% and it just so happened to be identical dimensions to your car in your photo, so I photochopped it. Anyway, gives you an idea, and the size is spot on...

I like it.

Love the red wagon. It has got the X factor. GK what about with the same wheels as you have on the sedan???? It would look excellent either way though.

If I get time, I just may be doing that this weekend. Actually I want to swap the S2 Tickford 17s with the S1 Tickford 16s from the wagon. It's a tyre rotation and budget conscious kind of thing! LOL!

Oil change comes first and a few other bits and pieces around the place, and then the rim swap time permitting.

Well I got the rims swapped over. I finished in the dark with the good old dolphin torch! LOL! Said more than a few prayers as even with the torch it was really hard going at the end of the job.

Man those Maxxis tyres which I've got on the 16s are so noisy, never intend buying them again. They wear really well and are good in both the wet and dry, but just so darn noisy. The Roadstones (Nexen N7000s) which I've got on the 17s are great. When the Maxxis stuff is burned up, I'll put Roadstones on the 16s.

The SR looks pretty average now. Oh well. At least the Futura looks pretty good. I'll take some pics when I can and post them up. Everyone will just tell me to hurry up and lower the wagon though! LOL!

Cheers,

GK

mmmm, whats the X factor??????Its going in to get LPG installed tommorrow so its gunna have the G factor....

But seriously it looks tidy when its washed(from a distance),but the weather lately hasnt really helped keep it clean.

GK,yeh I like the factory wheels my self as you can see,I still wanted to try BA2 XR6 wheels, but the BF wheels came up,so thats it for now,I actually need a space saver for the relocation to the boot due to the gas tank taking its place ,if any one has one.?????

I don't have a space saver ... but I have a ute spare steel rim ... like new (new tyre as well).
Not sure if that is what you are after or not.

man you have changed rims so many times on the wagon ... but I must admit the B-series 18"s looked great on it ... even the BF XR 17"s looked good as well.

But as Brad mentioned ... the BF Ghia wheels are a nice wheel as well ... simple and clean.

Another option is going Territory TS wheels ... they are a simple 5-spoke alloy .... I think Schulinder put a set on his ute ... they are a nice clean looking wheel.

your wagon looks good Dave with any of those wheel combinations. I have often thought of what my AU would look like with a set of BA ghia rims on it and with super lows.
