If you go a pod, use the same one G&D do. I think it's the 9" big motha or something like that.

waste of time unless your car is worked off its head, go the k&n panel at least u get better throttle response from it and it fits in the factory box easy upgrade.

Having the pod in the box is a good idea & works well, but it needs an insulated airbox (such as G&D's) to really provide a gain in response. So in summary both the pod and insulated airbox are required to get a return on your investment.

I believe theres a guide on here some where in how to do it yourself, with a standard box, a 3 inch Pod Filter, etc.. Iv done a very simular one, and recently removed it after probly a good 8-10months with it on. Dont expect anything more than some noise. Run a k&n flat panel filter if you cant get hold of the G&D. Or so Im told. |

Keep in mind all Ford dealers charge different prices, so shop around! When I bought my tickford snorkel a while ago now, the dealer across the road (well known Q Ford QLD ) was $52. I bought mine for $31 from a dealer 8km away (Bryant Ford). If I had of been in Newcastle it would have been $28 from Kloster Ford, the distributor. Don't worry about the tickford snorkel as the ones prementioned are the same without the badge.

Good old Q Ford. Always expect to be charged more! They tried to charge me 64 bucks for clear side indicators (S3 ones) then he looked at me funny when i laughed and walked out!! Haha.
In response to the filter i would agree with redxr on this one. He has the G&D unit in his and although the power out put gain isnt huge correct me if im wrong REDXR but the fuel economy alone is worth paying the extra money you'll save enough money on fuel to buy it three times over by the end of the year!!

Has anyone hear insulated their own airbox? Would some thick foam on the inside help? or would it be completely useless for the waste of time?
Cheers Nic |

I have just put a pod filter inside my standard airbox and cut a hole at the front of it to let air in from behind the headlight. It seems to work ok for now, but i doubt the standard box is enough to protect the pod. I am actually looking at getting a sheet of aluminium from Bunnings and bending it up to make my own airbox to cover the pod. I was also thinking of spraying it with some sort of heat protective coating.
After having a quick look on the net, I found this White Knight Hi Temp silicon based paint. Says it suitible for exhaust manifolds up to 540deg C. Would this be suitable to paint the outside of the aluminium at all? Just an idea I have been kicking around. Evan |
