I am thinking of selling the Falcon to upgrade to an Evo for a few reasons. Anyway I was wondering what does everyone think it might be worth?
Here are all the details on it: AU2 (2001) Forte T3 Kit (gt stripes) Projector lights 19" Roh Furys Lowered TE50 (t3) interior (genuine ford) with silver tickford cluster Turbo'd There are some extra's as well for it not fitted like the gt bulge, spare engine (for turbo) and some other things. Pics: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/so6.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/so1.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/afr2.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/P1000878.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/073.jpg The main problem with it is the turbo has made the engine sick. The turbo itself has only done about 1000-2000km and is a genuine (not chinese copy) garrett turbo which costed 2k alone, since iv had the turbo the car has done less then 5000km. What its done is stuffed up the engine compression but the car drives perfectly fine (you wouldnt even know) and is on about 5psi atm. Its never been thrased as it was stuffed from when the conversion was done literally when we drove out that day it had problems as it was over revved on the dyno. I am looking at selling it to get an EVO 9 as I am after a manual. The deal is I don't need to sell it at all and would prefer not to but if I can get some decent $$ for it I will. I have a spare engine here (second hand) that I was going to rebuild and chuck the gear onto which shouldnt take more then a week but if I can sell it and use the funds on the evo instead why not. What do you guys think I could get for it? The other option is to strip it and sell it in pieces but id prefer not to. I don't have a need for it anymore but don't want to give it away either any suggestions? Id prefer not to fix it then sell it as I cbf but just want to let it go if its worthwhile.

It won't be worthwhile unless you fix it first. Just keep it and waste more money on it, you know you want to.

If I were you and were mechanically competent I would definately do the hard yards and get it right before selling it. (after which you'll prob want 2 keep it)
I dont want to sound harsh but after looking around on the net the most expensive forte I could find loaded up with extras and done to be a TE50 clone was $13000. Now given that to do an engine properly that is going to last and having it sorted and tuned could cost 10K and maybe more depending on how fanatical you are then hard a**e mongrels like me ( and there are plenty out there) are gunna offer you a max of 3K otherwise you would just go out and spend 15k on an XR8. Sorry if this offends you but remember it's only one persons opinion and someone may see a huge potential and a heck of a lot more value in what is obvious that you spent a lot of time and put a lot of heart in to. I wish you all the best with it. |

I reckon around $9k max. Sorry, but the mods don't add an awful lot of value to it.

considering DansEDGLi/ex ff.com members Xr6 ran 11's and only fetched 15k or so a few years back. I'd have to agree with JC, 10k would have to be around the money. THe BA turbo has really killed any chance of chasing big dollars for any Falcon running boost :(

At the end of the day its just a fancy looking taxi, no offence but its not even good model, its just a forte. With the dying motor, the huge fall in value, I think you'd be lucky to score 6k for it.
Maybe with the new motor, you might get upto the 8-9k mark... maybe. |

Nice car buddy, and you can see that you've put a lot of time and money into it. Unfortunately though, I tend to agree with JC on his guess in terms of price.

I was never expecting to get the money back that I spent on it and knew full well that I wouldn't. If someone offered 10k I would sell it. I have everything here to rebuild the engine and can do it for next to nothing but if I do I won't be fixing it then selling it to someone else.
The other option is to sell the below separately: - body kit/lights - wheels/suspension - interior - turbo gear Say if I pulled an average of 1.5k for each bit that would be 6k which I think would be on the low side considering the turbo gear is worth alot more then $1500 and if I did sell it for that someone would be getting one hell of a bargain. The only reason I don't want to let it go is I dont want to see a brand new turbo + gear go to waste. I think the best way to do it would be to strip it could probably get more for the parts on ebay then selling it as a whole car for 10k which might be hard.

Its all engineered/legal the only thing illegal is the bov but iv got a plumb back one here to replace it + a hks one which I was going to change it to. if you check out the second pic its got a blue plate from qld transport and a certificate to say its all ok to drive. It was fitted professionally not a back yard job.

it seems a shame to see all the work you put into it go to someone else for the sake of a tired bottom end, maybe try selling at auctions put a high reserve on it if does`nt sell no biggy.

I am thinking of stripping the car down and selling it off. What I was wondering is there much demand for this sort of stuff anymore? I mean how much do you guys think i could sell the turbo kit for with engine etc. Id strip it if its worth while but if not I might leave it sit

Turbo kit, depending on exact specs - approx 3k Interior - 2k Rims - 1-1.5k And then you've got all your miscellaneous parts for which you'd easily make 4k plus without getting every single part out. You'll definitely make a bit more wrecking it, just depends on whether you can be stuffed or not, as it's alot of work, and there are alot of time wasters who stuff you around with purchases.

I reckon I could get more then 3k for the turbo kit the turbo alone retails for $2000. Its not the cheap stuff thats for sure.
Selling the gtr40 turbo, manifold, intecooler, piping, water/oil kit, batter relocation, computer, exhaust piping, gauge/timer + all the other bits that people don't include to do a complete install + an engine to do it with. I think 4-5k? if not id probably sell the parts individually on ebay and get close I reckon. Rims say 1.5k body kit painted say 1.5k interior say 2.5k, projector lights + other misc bits it should work out ok. But if someone offered 9k for it I would take it :(

I am truly spewing that you're not in VIC as this car looks and sounds awesome. And the bottom end issue is easily sorted with another engine from the wreckers. I've bought a car sight unseen from interstate before, based on photos and owner's BS description and certainly won't be doing that again.

Id include the spare engine but its a dead (sick) engine which Iwas originally going to use. My plan was to rebuild it and chuck the turbo on but instead did it on the stock engine.. big mistake! stock engine = bad idea
