I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimate on what kind of price i would be looking at to purchase THIS
Will this be the 220kw motor? What are the auto boxes like? (I was really wanting to find a manual) Also, i was just browsing aufalcon.com, is the car i'm looking at Sam's AU3 Herrod XR8 ? The motor in the LTD is almost dead, and if its not sold by the time i get my tax return i'm taking it off the market and using it as a daily, hence this looking like a very good replacement. Thanks

Yes it will have the 220 being the AUIII and by that build date I think it is and the auto in these is a nice thing if you are lazy like me. Are you looking at stripping it or repairing it?

Somewhere between $4k and $7k I would think. It will have the 220 motor in it (all series 3 XR8s did). FTG sell the motor and gearbox combo for around $4500.

Strip to put the good bit(s) into the LTD and then get rid of the rest. So Engine and Trans (if its any better than mine, which it probably is), and everything that i need to make it run in the LTD.
Interior, Diff etc would all get sold off.

certainly looks like it's that one from aufalcon.com, if so you'll have some nice herrod goodies on there as well.
If youre going to do the swap, do the whole driveline - engine, box and diff. And assumig it is that actual one, I may be interested in some of the Herrod gear depending on what is there.

Just looking at his aufalcon.com page though, either he took a lot of stuff off it or was making it up, there's some things listed as modified on there that look very "stock" to me in the pics of the wreck.

Looks like I won't have the finances unfortunately. Which is a huge shame as that gear would have gone VERY well inside the LTD. Oh well...
I'll go up and have a look at what it goes for though... and to see what else is up there
