Default Weirdness

I was driving through town today, and all of a sudden my car started to make this strange pusling noise, like something hitting a bit of plastic on and off all the time.

Nothing changed with the way the car drove, so got it home and had a looksee.

There is a silvery box bolted to the firewall with some cables going into it, this is what is causing the problems, an actuator of some sort, yet i have nfi what.

Anyone got any ideas clues etc ?

Looks like its off to fraud this week to get it looked at.

my car made a weird noise under the bonnet so i took it in to Ford (my service was due anywayz) and i had to get new air filter..they told me they'd had another Fiesta in a few weeks prior that made the same noise and had same prob..the noise is a broken seal (or similar) in my water filter tho so im up for a few hundred $$ for that

Nope ST170's never came with it.

Its actually the automatic choke, and it is going to cost a fortune to fix :(

Bugger, that's a shame. Sorry to hear it, it would have to happen at a time like this, huh. If there's anything I can do, let me know, I'll light some candles around an ST170 model and chant for a few hours, let me know if it fixes it.
