The key for my 2012 focus has been having a few issues in the past few days with getting about halfway open and then stopping, sometimes only closing halfway without putting much more force than usual, sometimes not opening at all until I lever it out a little bit, and sometimes it's perfectly fine. I believe it's a problem with the spring for the flip out key but can't figure out how to expose the spring or what I would do from there. Has anyone else had this issue before?

Could be something has lodged inside and obstructing the movement.
Check this vid that explains how to pull the key apart and reassemble it ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNJIlTetgUA |

Thanks for the link pedro, that will sure help once I have it disassembled, but I can't get it apart and I don't want to go prying at it with abaondon. I know how to get the panel off to expose the battery but I can't see anything further there.
