Talking Mick's New ride :D

Hey Guys

Well I thought id show everyone my new ride :sm_headba . Recently ive had enough pouring more money into the mick mobile and this was offered to me at a cheap price. Its in alot better condition then the EA and its bigger and more bling ( _2: )

its a 1993 NC2 Fairlane Ghia but has been mocked up exterior wise to a LTD with grill, bonnet badge, garnish and exterior badging. She's a 5.0 ( :hihi: Wooot) with a Full reco 4 Speed that has been mechanically shiftkitted to what was stated on the invoice from Preston trans and diffs as Stage 3. In power mode at WOT damn it chirps. It only has a 3:23 LSD behind it at the moment. its sitting on Superlows with shortend Pedders GSR shockers.

Interiorwise its just stock NC2 Fairlane but with a Sunroof and custom parcelshelf. Ill be putting my full Ghia leather interior, woodgrain, etc into it as im over the fairlane interior after having it before.

Main things im doing to it straight away is fitting Stereo system with the new clarion VRX815 7" indash headunit, my chrome FTR's and colourcoding the mouldings with new chrome and taking off the horrid pin striping. Im not sure about the EF/EL handles on it thou :

Big thanks to everyone who has helped me out on the blue car. it has been appriciated. The blue car will return to stockish with fairlane interior and EF Fairmont wheels and will most likely be sold cheap.

Here's some pics, I will get more when Ive swapped everything over.

Grandpa hahaha yeah he was (not), my mate jamie who i bought it off really did look after it but did occasionally give it the old boot here and there

The power isnt too bad but a mate has sourced me GT40P heads and explorer upper and lower manifolds that will go on to it later in the year. First thing is that its getting a ELGT style snorkle as the factory one looks like the engine has to breath through a straw :P

Oh nick its alot quicker then the ea ;) thats the MAIN THING lol. Its got alot of low down torque, but is flat spotting on take off a little atm but thats being fixed by the old owner today.

my mates was kinda doing this, we changed the leads and plugs and it seemed to fix most of that problem, i have noticed that they have slight lag though but usually only when car is idle or rolling slow

Wow! Very nice!

Since you're planning on swapping the top end, why not invest in a cam & springs at the same time? There's still only one cam, but it's located a bit more south than the I6 one

Gonna swap the t/b and MAF housing at the same time?

You've definitely picked the right time to get a 5.0, AU bits are so cheap now...

500km/tank for city/mixed is awesome ;) Mine's a little tired, and a little thrashed, but I'm getting roughly 450 to a tank at the moment. She'll be fine on normal unleaded too, no need to put extra money into the tank for the same volume of fuel.

Welcome to the Wheezer Family Initial Mick!

Can't wait for w4yn3z0r to read this thead :P

Nice car Mick. Looks great. Loving the colour! :P
E-series members everywhere seem to be getting new cars. (Note to self: Get a decent job, so I can afford to trade in my EA). Your EA looked nice though. It'll be weird seeing you in a Lane'.

nice one mick!!! looks like i might have to start worrying about you beating me now :P

seriuosly though ive seen this car driving on the road before and it looks pretty mint. cant beleive the good ole EA is now gone/(going). i know you done heaps of work to it and it still didnt go as good as it should have but at least youve made it very reliable as everything in it is nearly new!

should rip nice skids in the new one without guard lifting ;)
