Default VE Spotted today....OMG....

Whilst out and about today was driving past Pedders in Moorabbin and seen this car sitting out the front. Wonder if this is Holdens stripe package they are offering, do I need to say any more........what about the legs of the rear spoiler as well. This was actually being lowered for Booran Holden

i know it's obviously for safety/pederstrian impact regulations etc, but still can't stand how high that thing is.. even when lowered, the distance from the bumper skirt to the headlight level.... not to mention the window sills and the 10 foot high boot lid. It's made worse by the sideways rectangular cutouts for the driving lights. Hey, goes like stink though, and the stripes don't look too bad.

Maybe they don't have many positive things to say...? Being facetious as I'd imagine they would be raving about it...dreaming about it...replacing their porn collection with VE pictures...

The car inside is very coupe like. Rear view was fine but maybe a touch smaller in width then normal, The rear wing i didn't see it.
If noone is talking about it then large cars are doomed:(

Last time I checked this was the general section. "For General Automotive Related Talk". Given the current hot topic is the VE what else should people be discussing.

And if you don't like it, don't click on the thread. Its actually really easy to skip over the ones you don't like/care about/have time to read.

The rest of the site is dedicated to Fords feel free to look around, you may find something more to your tastes.

For me, I find it good to see opinions put up and discussed, it would be very boring just talking about what station my Ford ICC picked up today.

.
I think you missed the point of his post - why the need for a new thread, surely posting this picture could have been done in one of the other VE threads? Thats the way I read it anyway. :

Yeah I drove a SS-V. Not great visibility when it comes to parking. Spoiler isnt as bad as I thought it would be though. Basically it's like my GT, you can't see much at all out the back.

Thats because you got a 4 foot wing on the boot.
New modern cars are not as easy as the 80-90's cars to view out of.

When you see the car in the metal the wing doesn't look bad. Kind of in proportion to the rest of the car.

I heard that today. Supposedly they put the seat belt pretensioners in back to front. It's a big job getting all the trim off to get to the pretensioners, but the actual swapping them around after that is fairly quick.

This has to be one of the stupidest things i have ever read on here. A Ve is less safe then a 1960s designed car?

Lets see:
Airbags
inertia reel seat belts (with pre-tensioners)
crumple zones
safety cell bodies
dash padding
dash buttons designed not to become daggers on impact
collapsable steering column
Interior materials designed not to burst into flames or give off poisonous fumes in a fire
strong roof
laminated safety glass
descent steering/brakes etc to avoid accident
ABS- ESC
bright headlights
intrusion bars in doors
seats designed to protect not maim you
fuel tanks designed not to rupure and ignite easily

.. I LOVE 60s classics, but lets not pretend they were safe!

your either saying:

a. - a xy falcon is a safer car than a ve commodore or
b. - all xy falcons are slow.

think, before you write....
