Default Tony Ferguson Diet

Anyone on here done the Tony Ferguson diet?

Well, in an attempt to shed some kilos from Christmas and Easter, today is day 1. And I must say, that I already miss my coffee and and am feeling hungry.

The decaf stuff just does not cut it for taste and I have that terrible taste in my mouth already.

Anyone care to offer advice or any hints?

i believe in the 'eat what ever you want and then get off your arze and do something' diet.

and really, how fat do you think your going to get by drinking coffee?

I have known a few people on this diet and they all lost heaps of weight on it. It is very popular in WA.

i'll put my hand up. after visiting some friends who had used it, i decided to take up the TF diet as well.

i managed to lose 25kg for my wedding, gain a few on the honeymoon, and have now come home to start up on it again to get rid of the rest of the weight.

i must admit decaf coffee is different, and somewhat hard to get used to... though i find myself eating all day... which is not always a bad thing.

well, so far this week....
breakfast has consisted of a piece of fruit nuked in the microwave with nutrasweet & cinnamon.. and a cup of tea with skim milk

mid morning i have a shake

lunch i have a salad... and a huge salad at that...

mid afternoon, some more fruit.. lately i've had a thing for prunes (yeah, prunes of all things), so a handful of them, a shake another cup of tea...

then for dinner the allowed meat and veggies. i don't measure the meat out, and i pile the veggies on..

after dinner, the diet jelly if i can be bothered making it... if not i should consume enough water and tea to tie me over until i go to bed...

having said that, the first few days are the hardest, and as someone else has said, you have to stick to the diet, and then be just as careful with what you eat when you come off it.. i know my body doesn't appreciate breads, pasta, and starchy business, so if i go back to my toast & vegemite for breakfast, like i did on my honeymoon, i'm bound to pile it back on...

greenmachine: blood 'n' bone? not toooo sure about that one :P i quite like it... strawberries and cream tastes like a strawberry big m.. yummm :P

I'm looking at doing the TF diet after i have the baby because I've heard a bit about it but haven't actually looked into it. Anyone know if it's suitable for Diabetics?

What is the run down of this diet? Is it shakes or planned meals or?

Tried Tony Ferguson, it made me feel ill and cranky (i work long hours) I have gone the other route now (still eat food but less fatty stuff) and go to the gym for an hour to an hour and a half a day... I couldnt see the value in TF, the banana smells like urine to btw (urrk).

Im losing weight, still eating well and feel much better... :

Yeah, fair point. Everyone is different. I did the gym thing years ago and lost interest after a month. The wife lost just over 10 kilos before Christmas on this, and she is keen to lose some more weight now again. So am I.

And no fear for the banana smoothie.... hate them at the best of times.

Big shock to the system with this diet, make sure you get the fibre with the shakes as it will block you up real quick!!.

Go the expresso, caffe latte and mocha shakes as they will give you the coffee taste (they are the best flavours IMO)

No bread, selected fruits and veg, no coffee, soft drinks or alcohol, its a big ask lol.

You will lose weight with this diet easy, but when you stop and go back to having some carbs etc (TF is low carb diet) you will put weight on easy again.

Two shakes a day, 2 pieces of fruit a day, 5 cups of salad a day and up to 250 grams of protien a day (for men) good luck!

Krissy,

I don't think you can go on the diet if you are a diabetic without a letter from your GP. There were 50 questions when you sign up like "do you have..." and diabetes was on the list.

Basically, it is replacing 2 meals a day with shakes and a strict carb-free diet.

Lite 'n' Easy were the same. Needed a letter from my GP before I could order their meals. The only diet that has ever worked for me was the Scarsdale diet. You have to be 110% commited to it because it's a very strict diet. Along with daily exercise I went from a size 22 to a size 14 in a matter of months. I'm now at a comfortable 16/18 but after the baby, I want to be in a 14 once again. The problem is that I'll be breastfeeding and although that's a good thing for weight loss, I have to be careful about what diet so that I have nutrients for the baby. Ahhh I'll find something...

I haven't tried the TF diet.

Hi There,

Been on it for six od so weeks now and have lost 10.5 kgs and around 12cm off waist.

The first few days were hard but now I actually look forward to the shakes etc. Use the fibre powder in the shakes as it thickens them up and makes them more filling. Enjoy the jellies and TF chocolates. Try having a bigger lunch sometimes and have shake for dinner. And of course tray an exercise at least 3 times a week.

I'll give it a go one day - Had a mate on it who lost a shed-load of weight and seems to have kept most of it off... Tried one of his shakes once, tasted a little bit like blood'n'bone... But I guess you've got to suffer for fashion...

Just remember, a diet isn't something you go on and get off. It's a lifestyle change that you stick to.
Else you will put all that weight back on, going back to the old ways.

Good luck I tried it and didnt work. I have since started weight watchers, never been hungry and it teaches you how to prepare different meals and healthy meals.
I do miss my chops and salty chips but thats it really!

my wife and i were both on the TF diet and had really good results. i lost at least 1kg and a full cm from around the belly EVERY week......well except for the x-mas week, but hey stuff happens right?

we found ourselves struggling a bit after dinner, so we elected to keep having either a normal sized lunch or dinner, and on friday nights we'd treat ourselves to a steak and vege meal at the local pub restuarant....it gave us something to think of while munging down on salad lunches---i really, really hate salads.

the only reason we have stopped using the diet is that we've moved and no-one out here does it. i wish you the best of luck- hang in there, it does get better and becomes second nature after a while.

As many know the family has had stomach band operations. My mum and I have not. I have lost about 35kg and mum about 40kg due to the TF diet. After about 3 days you will feel fine and not worry about coffee and the like.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys.

Well, I came home early from work today... due to the pure hunger that I had. Wife had cooked up some chicken (portions) that we were allowed and heaps and heaps of green veges. I've never eated so many veges before. Dessert was some diet jelly, and I'm now hungry again.

I know it won't be easy for the first few days, but I don't feel as bloated as I normally do. But I could go a whopper with fries in a heart beat !!!

I did it last year, lost 20kg, still need to loose another 15 though, but i have been slack.
I found it hard the first 4 days, i had headaches for days 3-5 i think, then after that i got used to eating stuff all !! But i was having 2 serves of protein most days as i was fairly active with work. And the Jelly will the low carb ice cream wasnt bad at all imo

good luck with it mate !

MAte, well done. If I lose 20kg I'd be stoked. How long did that take you?

Hoops, the TF program was $15 to join up.

Then I spent about $90 for the first weeks worth of shakes, lollies, jelly and a bottle of multi-vitamins. The vitamins themselves were about $26. So expect about $50 - $60 a week on shakes and stuff ongoing.

I'm thinking of getting on the TF but I'm a little worried about how it'll effect me in terms of headaches, hunger, 'lack of fibre' etc. It's hard enough to concentrate at uni as it is, the last thing I need is these sorts of problems to deal with. How hard is it to get used to and how bad does it effect you?
