As I want a new mobile, what are the best ones out there at the moment.
The criteria I have is: Thin and small, I carry mine in my pocket always! Loud ring tone, Bluetooth, Name announce. Not fussed on camera or Mp3. Something with a good clear screen as well. Long battery life and what ever else I should have. Always had Nokia's and am used to them. Dont really want a slide or flip phone though but if they are the go, so be it. So what is the latest out there?

How much do you want to spend or what type of contract.
My Nokia N95 is brilliant. Not that thin but sits in my shirt pocket comfortably. VERY loud ring. Bluetooth...yep. Clear and big screen. Battery life..not that great. 5mp camera. GPS. and way too many other things to mention (I've got old one with only a 1gig memory card, the new ones have 8gig on board memory and a bigger screen.)

I agree. I have one and although the battery life is bad it does everything i want. Its also good for reception in bad coverage areas.

N82 Slim, good camera, loud, fits all your criteria but is expensive. It is the newest of the three i've mentioned.
N95 fits your criteria aside from it being a slide... N73 Reasonably inexpensive (allow a few hundred) and again fits your criteria. |

Price not too much of an issue as its for buisness and I am sick of crappy ones. Seem to have gone through so many lately.
I am on a plan at the moment but want to trade up E51 & N82 looks the goods! Handy with the GPS too!

A mate of mine works at a Telstra shop. After hearing just how many ZTE's come back for the number they sell I wouldn't buy one.
Stick with Nokia... |

Always stick with Nokia. I have owned many, many phones and have always found Nokias to be the most durable.
I have recently gone to a 6500s. I find it great. Big screen, pretty good camera, MP3 player, bluetooth. Video Calls, only down side is it isn't fantastic for messaging, but still good enough that I am still very happy with it. And, as far as durable goes, I am amazed it still turns on with the number of times I have dropped it onto concrete or the like. Still works like the day I got it.

If you use to Nokia stay with Nokia.
I change to Motorola and have a V3x, its a flip and its awesome the only thing that ****es me off is the text messaging, the dictionary does not remember new words and auto word complete always goes to a diff word than what i want GRRRRRRRRRR Nokia text messaging is the best on the market N95 is just a bling phone and a phone that you can say to your mates look what it does, has a bunch of useless functions that you would never use Click here ot use the Nokia Online Service to compare thier phones side by side http://www.nokia.com.au/A4519005 |

Ive got a sony ericcson K70i.
very good phone although it gets a while getting used to it as its fairly thin and very smooth. Very clear and big screen, 3.2mp camera, mp3's etc. comes with a 256mb card, bluetooth enabled. I think its great, the buttons are spaced apart and its very easy to type with. Its dimensions are about 1.5-2cm thick. 6cm wide 16-18cm tall. its very durable, my screen hasnt got a scratch on it although the rest of it does and thats saying something!(ive broken 2 nokia 5140-builders phones) Its a 3G phone too. got it on a $50 plan = $300 per month of calls/sms EDIT: AND ITS PURPLE!!! you can get black ones though

Hi,
I didn't read through all the posts... But someone may or may not have suggested Nokia's 6500 classic. Slim small, clear screen, loud, cam, bluetooth. Does all you mentioned, Sometime I can't find/feel it in my pockets! The Nokia 6500 is pretty much as above, but a slide, my sister got one of these. Sony Erricson W880 might be cheap now. Same as Nokia Classic, pretty much but centers around being a "Walkman". The Nokia E65 was OK too but it was a slide too! Good luck hunting for phones! |

Chalk up another vote for the N82, best phone I have owned so far. Currently using a 8300 curve blackberry though (testing for work) and the 82 is far better. Nokia maps is average but if you install garmin xt the gps becomes very useable, the camera is sensational particulary in low light conditions, bluetooth quality is great, mp3 player is good my only gripe is battery life is a little ordinary particulary if you use the gps, other useable features include wireless lan, radio plus a great screen.

I have a Samsung i450. Really good phone. Downfall for your needs is that its a slide phone. So in that case scrap that.
Other option would be returning to Nokia or look at taking a leap of faith into another brand.

The only downside with them was the quality of the finish which scratched very easily. LGs also had this problem. I've had the SE 610i for about 6 months now, and although it cops a hiding the finish is still scratch-free. The only downside with the SE candy bar phones is the size of the keys. I've got pretty thick fingers and it took me a while to adjust. Happy now though. |

I did find however, the lower rqange models werent as resistant to the higher end models. Thats just my observation though.
