Default Territory, Ranger crossover Frankenstein!

I just seen what looks to be a Ford Territory - Ranger Frankenstien but was left hand drive.

It had a Ranger front end, bonnet, front window (not sure about the dash as I've never sat in a Ranger) and front drivers door etc and from behind the drivers seat, Rear door backwards it was a Territory but the rear bumper wasn't fitting properly and the fuel filler had been moved.

To me it was riding a bit high to be running on Territory running gear so I would have to say that in general terms it was a Ranger with a Territory rear end (that's a guess though).

And yes, in between fumbling with a coffee we managed to get three pictures.

Not sure if anyone else has taken any photos of it so I'm unsure if they should have a FordForums watermark on them before I put them up??

Now, Back to my coffee!!

Maybe one of the Admins can do it? I'll report the post to get their attention and see if they can sort it

You could always just open the photos in 'Paint', watermark it then save it. Not fancy but it has to be one of the easiest ways to do it?

It would be - until someone else puts it on their website as an 'exclusive'.

Kinda wierd they'd do it this way though...I mean, why use the back half of a Territory?? One is a unibody car, the other is body on frame..? I'm lost on this one...

Maybe there will be an IRS derivative? I wouldn't imagine it would take Tezza's IRS to do so though.

But even if there was an IRS version, why use the Tezza back end? Notice also that it uses a Ranger stud pattern and wheels, which rules out the use of the Territory IRS, in this car anyway

Maybe just something funky with the T6 wagon rear bodywork?

Unless they haven't signed off on the rear styling and are pushing forward with development k's.

That's what I'm thinking it is - there is some issue or something holding them up with the back half of the T6 bodywork or design, they can't afford to wait any longer and need to get the attribute prototypes done and validated by a certain time. Not surprising seeing as the back half of the SUV will have unique panels to the ute.

While we're waiting for the watermarking, there is much to discuss. So excitement! I've been waiting for this vehicle to surface for ages.

I noticed the mule had some long brushes attached under the car, at the sides under the back doors and under the back of the car where the spare tyre usually lives. They looked like car wash bushes but in a strip rather than on a roller. I wonder what those were for.

A bit odd they shoved a Territory back end on the car though. Perhaps they are still sorting out the design aspects of it and needed to get the mules out and about.

Hand made factory test mules are cool !! There's always something in/on them that gives away a decent clue as to what's coming !
The "Left Hand Drive" bit is very interesting....

In what way? Of the hundreds of countries this will be sold in, not much more than a dozen or so will be RHD.
