Default Blow out on the way home from work tonight

Well Blow out might but a bit strong but i was on my way home tonight at 5.30pm had come along Flinders Street crossed King William Street Intersection witch now becomes Franklin Street (Opp. GPO) I hear a loud noise from my left rear & a bit of a scrapping sound for a few seconds. I assumed i must have picked up some rubbish on my rear trye & it hit under my gaurd. The noise stopped so I though cool the rubbish had realised itself. My car drove fine & im about 6km from the GPO) As i pulled into my driveway i heard a slight noise. When I got out of the car I had a flat left rear. I went inside got a tourch & noticed it had scrapped & left a couple of paint chips on left rear wheel arch. (Not happy Jan) I had the RAA out thanks to Ford Roadside Assitance had the spare put on we both checked out the trye & could see no obvious damage or cuts etc. The alloy looks fine as well. Will have this checked out on Friday on my RDO as I have a mate with a trye shop. As for paint damage i will call my insurance as my $300 excess is probally worth paying to fix paint. (I have rating one protection) I like my cars immacualte & keep them immaculate so the sooner the paint fixed the better.

Well it turned it there was something that got caught up in the trye & flicked itself out. There was a cut from the object that was about 10mm long.
So a Dunlop SP3000 235/45/17 that has only done 5500km is stuffed.

The brand of tyre was Dunlop SP Sport 235/45/17 they are as new my car has only done 5700km. The RAA guy mentioned that the valve might have let go as post 5 mentioned. Im not sure what damanged the paint wheather it be a forign object picked up in the trye & then spat out. (Although on quick inspection last night trye looks fine) Or is it possible for flat tyre to damage the paint? I run 38psi.
