S3 Ghia amplifier???

I'm wading through options to upgrade my sound system and was wondering if anyone knows if a Series 3 F/Ghia has an amp controlling the subby and rear speakers?

My Gregorys (covers all au falcons) audio wiring diagram shows an amp "where fitted"

I would assume that it would "be fitted" to a Ghia with Prem sound...but what do I know?

If it has a 8inch sub in the rear parcel shelf, yes it will have an amp behind the rear right hand side boot panel. All the front/rear speakers are powered from the head unit.

Can you confirm that both f's and r's are run from the headunit. The Gregorys shows sub *and rears* powered by the amp?

I think only the S1 Ghias had the rears powered by the amp, but I could be wrong. Might be a matter of tracing some wiring back to the amp.

Apparently the amp has a spare set of speaker terminals that in theory could power another sub, as I believe in the Series 1 it also powered up the speakers, not just the sub... but being only a 2 channel, I'm not sure exactly how that could be the case?

My S2's amp does indeed have spare speaker terminals, but i haven't tried to hook them up to anything yet because the thing cuts out occassionally when I turn the ignition on, making the sub go 'pop'...leaving me with 'Prestige sound', not 'Premium sound' ie, a 6 stacker but no subwoofer!
