Is it possible to take the bonnet and grill from an AUII and stick it straight onto the AUI?
The reason I ask is I much prefer the AUII front end look to that of the AUI. P.S. Just got my AUI yesterday! Bought it off my parents for mates rates (or offspring rates?) I'd driven it a few times and was quite impressed. |

We have been here very recently:
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=74663 Personally, unless you can get the bonnet and painting at mates rates, I just can't see it being a cost effective thing to do. It will be out of all proportion to the value of the car. Go to the wreckers, get an AUI Futura grille, and be done with it. |

Hey JC, mine's Deep Red, I'm guessing you're in Australia? I think I'd better check local scrapers because I'm over in New Zealand.
The car btw, is a 2000 Falcon AUI with 73 048km on the clock. Also do the bumpers from the AUII fit on as well? I'm going to be owning the car for the next 4-6 years so I want it to look how I like it. That's the value of the bonnet to me. [EDIT] Just had a look at the AUI Futura grill, it's more bearable than my "toothy grin" grill, if I can't get the bonnet and grill from an AUII or if it costs to much I'll consider the futura. Thanks for pointing it out. Last edited by Faded_Mantis; 30-11-2006 at 07:47 PM. |

Series II/III rear bumpers are a bit deeper than AUI. Most noticable if you look at the exhaust cutaway. SII/III has a pop-out panel for the towbar, AUI doesn't need it because its not as deep.
