we have successfully fitted a BA 4ltr into a AU falcon , and got it running using the AU PCM.
it just clears the bonnet (with a slight re-mould of 1 of the bonnet ribs) hooks up using the AU coil pack , and most AU accessories. no cutting of wiring looms it all just plug together , some brakets need to be made for water pipes, accel cable and a/c pump new hose needs to be made for power steering . this is a engine change that could be done in a weekend i will be developing this conversion in the next few weeks, and running a car up on the dyno to see what power we can get out of it. |

Excellent work. A good upgrade idea if you can make it all work.
Even if you can't get the VCT operational just getting the DOHC head is a worthwhile exercise and any tuner can fix the A/f and ign with an edit. Still nice to see if the BA ECU can be used so you get vct control Last edited by jonbays; 15-11-2006 at 08:41 AM. Reason: spelling |

Sounds good, what ecu would you need to get the VCT(or is it DVCT) working?
How much would you be charging? Is the AU coil up to the job? If you used another ECU would the BA coil pack be more of an advantage? Sorry for the questions?

i saw a stock BA2 Ute pull 141kW on the same day/dyno that i pulled 117 (with exhaust). probably the cheapest 20+kW you will ever buy.

I will be watching this thread with interest. What bonnet mods did you do? Was it an XR bonnet or standard?
