Hey all,
Just thought i'd share that i picked up my XR8 this afternoon after having a twin 2.5 mild steel cats back system put on at Genie Exhausts.. I wish I had done it ages ago!! As soon as I started the car it was the sound i've been wanting for so long. At idle it sounds great and when I gave it a bit of a gun on the freeway it sounded even better. anyway they dynoed the car before and after its gone up a little from 242.13 hp to 256.82 hp with its best increase in the 3,500 - 4,500 range. i wasnt really worried about any power gains so this is just a bonus. another good thing was it finally solved an ongoing rattle when going over potholes, speedbumps etc This problem which could not be solved by Ford despite 'resetting exhaust system position' and the service advisor complaining that his techs spent hours trying to track the problem turned out to be a bent bracket. : cheers Nathan |

Hey Richo, I got the same thing as you and wondering how much a cats back system costs for an auIII XR8. Also, how much better does it sound?

yep it sounds so much better, its best at start up and idle and when your giving it some squirt. its also pretty quiet at freeway speeds which is what i wanted.
was $750 all up with the stainless tips. |

There good figures for a AU3 after doing the exhaust going from 181rwkw or 242rwhp to about 191rwkw or 257rwhp
I take it the rest of it is not stock and a manual Good stuff
