Well 205,000kms of hard driving EVERYWHERE in 4 years would do that. The Sydney commute, racing at the dragway, rocking the car out of mud/snow/sand, burnouts at the local Maccas - this clutch has persevered through it all. Ok I sorta made the last one up
Any recommendations of where to get a clutch kit done on the Focus in Sydney, at the moment I'm looking at around $1200 from Ford.

The type of clutch you want depends on what you want it intended for. Upping power any time soon, maybe look at twin plate or Heavy Duty. Not worried about drivebility but still want no clutch slip then perhaps going Cushion Button or Brass Button with Ceramic Pucks.
Replacement kits should be about a grand I'm assuming and even then you could get a nice Heavy Duty Organic Face Exedy item for instance that will allow you to make more power without the hassle of having a slipping clutch anytime soon. Few factors that need to be considered, but in my honest opinion you don't need to go, button clutch or multi-plate until you have trouble with traction. As for places in Sydney, beats me... hahaha

I got to do mine to.
I stuffed up 6 months ago, took off in third- spun the clutch also may have boiled the clutch fliud. Its been shuddering on take off ever since. I flushed the fluid and it made it a bit better. I got a quote for clutch and slave(concentric-goes around input shaft) about $600 for parts but thats trade price. I am doing it myself I got to get my bottom into gear and do it soon cause its starting to get difficult to change gears. Oh tell who ever you get it done by that there are no dowels in the bell housing(no spigot too i beleive). my mate works for ford and found out the hard way. Lets just say the gearbox really needed replacing.

So I got the clutch done 2 weeks ago, 1300 from the local mechanic.
Went mostly well except I wore the clutch so badly it was down to the rivets on the clutch plate, and the flywheel looked like this: The flywheel is dual mass so they aren't supposed to be machined, but a new one was going to cost close to $1000, so they hand machined it - with the risk that there might be shudder, luckly there wasn't
