I searched and kept finding people linking to aufalcon.com.au for a how to on it, but it appears to be gone.
How do I do this for my au-I? Sorry for all the q's lately, just need to learn how to do this stuff and everyone here is really helpful. |

To do it you need to purchase the actual scuff plate from a BA, along with the insert (ie the bit with the Ford/FPV/XR logo depending on which one you choose). Once you've got them, use a philips head screwdriver to undo the 2 screws that hold each scuff plate on, and then just fit the BA ones, they'll go straight on.
Note that they only fit the front on AU's, you cant put BA ones on the back.

Three screws on the AU scuff plate, and only 2 on the BA ones, as the BA ones have a spring clip that fits into one of the screw holes after you remove the white plastic screw holder... very easy job.

Ahhhhhhh, now I see. I was thinking the scuff plate was the little insert. D'oh! Thanks for the heads up, since i've got an S-Pac i'm wondering if I can get someone to custom design me a pair of the 'S' ones. They'd look awesome.

How much do the scuff plates cost out of interest if anyone knows? I'm interested in doing this myself at some stage.

They were done for me a few years ago by a good friend. He is a member on here but rarely comes online anymore. His name is Philbie.
To do something like these though took 3 of us about 4 hours to design and manufacture. We worked out the retail cost of these to be something stupid (about $400 a pair) as they were a lot more detailed than normal.

Oh well, at that price I guess they will always be a one off.

Ford want $17.50 each in choice of black or grey for BA scuff plate and $36 per pair of plate inserts. I am doing this myself and was quoted these prices the other day.

Very nice, I can hopefully get some done. Can you put me in any direction of who would do them for me?
Also the ones i'm after should cost quite considerably less as I want basically exactly the same as this: http://i9.ebayimg.com/04/i/07/9d/8f/74_1.JPG except with the xr6 replaced with the au 'S'. |

Got prices from 2 major ford dealers and the prices were the same, perhaps freight puts the prices up (I'm in South Oz).

I got mine from Adrian Brien at St Marys, like I said they are $18.00 each here in south oz. You can get inserts with other things on them like just the ford logo which I would highly recommend as the aluminium really looks good set into the plastic.

Much appreciated, I might look into it when I have a little more spare cash.
Sounds like one of the cheapest "mods" available

Just rang Ford in Frankston to see about getting a couple of BA scuff plates to fit on the AU LTD. The parts guy said $30 each and the Fairlane/LTD's are different to normal BA XT"s and won't fit on the LTD.
Not sure that I believe him!!! Does anyone know if this is true or not and also where to get them for the prices everyone else seems to be able to get them for. Regards Peter |

I thought so, as the front doors etc are all the same so the trim should also be similar.
It goes to show you that if you believe the people that work at Ford you wouldn't do any mods at all. I have bought the LTD scuff trim inserts off e-bay but I was hoping to get the trims for around $17 each not $30 !!!!! I have PM'd FTG to see what they sell them for |

I already have the metal trims, I was after the actual plastic trim. This is what Ford want $30 for in Frankston.

Very nice.
I like Caspers with the little ghost, so I think yours needs an Indian headset on it. |
