Default AU to BA front end conversion kit

I spoke with the guys that make these kits to convert your AU front end into a BA earlier today, if you've been thinking about trading in your AU ute for a BA why spend up to $10,000+ to trade up.Just think about all the dollars you've already spent just to get your AU driving, riding and running just the way you want, now imagine losing all that PLUS the trade in, so really you could be losing more like $15,000-$20,000+.

Do you really want to start all over again and spend many thousands more on the next car on top of whatever the trade up price is, so there goes another $15K-$20K, don't know about you but I didn't win the $53M this week.

For a fraction of the cost of trading up as well as the other money you'd lose you can now give your car a facelift and have a late model look to give you the new car feel you want.

I forgot the best bit though, these kits are fully ADR approved and legal for road use, each comes with a certificate of approval so you won't have any probs with the boys in blue.

You can get them with a smooth bonnet also if you prefer but why not be different, the guards will really make you stand out and the fluted bonnet, everyone will be wondering what you're packing under the bulge it:

The price will be around the $2500 mark supply only (paint and fitting extra) and that includes headlights and fitting brackets for the headlight conversion, you can get them in either the flat bottomed XT/Fairmont lights or the XR/FPV scalloped front bar. So you get the bonnet, both guards, front bar of your choice, either BA or BF FPV style, and a certificate of approval to keep you out of trouble.

As you can see they also do the sides skirts and a rear Talon/TE style bar as well to finish it off for the sedans if anyone is looking for something a little different on their Forte or Fairmont now you can have it.

This would be great for those thinking about doing a BA/F GT/F6 style wagon, a V8 wagon with a GT front at a very friendly price.

Anyway here are some pics, let me know what you think.

that would be awesome but how does it fit, do you have to cut out radiator support panel and any other mods. i have wanted to do this for a while but read on here its more trouble than its worth. and how much are we talking unpainted.

Their is an add on section/replacement for the rad support, the bonnet has been redone to fit the AU hinges. the lights come with adaptor kit as you use the actual BA lights which you can buy fromany dealer or wrecker but need the adaptor kit.

As for the bonnet and gurads they do the flat bonnet I'm sure she said but didn't ask about the guards, I can check Monday if you're keen.

I'm pretty sure they said they do the flat bonnet, but didn't ask for the guards, look at the end of the day it's all about being different really anyway but ye I guess if you want to do a factory look it won't suit your needs.

I'll check it out, leave it with me.

Just got confirmation they do make these with the standard flat bonnet and standard look guards, the price is the same though.

Hope that helps.

I certainly think so as well, this is great for anyone that has been thinking about trading up but then weighing up the costs involved plus the money already poured into their AU and well it just wouldn't be cost effective. This gives you the best of both worlds, you can have a later model look but not lose all the money you've already spent on mods.

It would of course as I said suit mostly ute and wagon owners, that's not to say that sedan owners won't, just not as many I guess.

Hey guys if you're missus has been on your back to update the family wagon and it just happens to be an AU, then this could definitely be an option for you.

This isn't from Phat customs is it? Are those side panels fibreglass?

I'm not sure about anyone else, but i wouldn't upgrade a car for looks alone. Nice idea, but i doubt it will be a volume seller.

Its from Blitz Bodykits on the Gold Coast. All the panels are glass. I dont mind the look of the side panels. They also make a custom ute rear bar that Ive never seen anywhere else but I think it would only look good with a v8 supercar front end...

Correct, no it's not from Phat in Dandenong mate it is from Blits, these guys have done the hard yards and you guys benefit because you can legally have them on your car which also means no probs (minimal anyway depending on company) with insurance.

The rear bar for the ute I mentioned to them and I think they are currently getting it ready for the sedan which another couple of members on here have asked for, V8 Suoercar full kit that is, and it would look quite good on a ute, the sides are basically the same as the DJR side skirts.

The guards I'll most likely be putting on my F6 very soon and I have also spoken to the guys there about getting new products made of my design which will be also ADR approved, so great news for all really as so far my biggest hurdle has been the costs involved with prototyping.

Keep an eye on this section for further info on new products that will be coming out from TBA Customs design studios LOL.

With the conversion kit you could also go for the V8 Supercar front bar as well, so really give your AU a facelift and then some.

Do you have any more pics of the red car in its entirety? i.e. include the back half of the car in the picture as well as the converted front.

Thanks

Default Was for sale on trademe.co.nz

Sorry bout the last post. I should have posted pics, not a link to an auction. Unfortunately this car was an xr6, not an xr8 like the bulge would suggest. nice looking car though. Below is the description that was on the website of the guys who did the work.
