Could be one (or both) things:
Dead alternator
Blown fusible link in alternator wiring loom
There's a 280A non replaceable fusible link in the wiring loom for the alternator going to the positive battery terminal - the whole wiring loom needs to be replaced if this blows.
Costs about $200 for the wiring loom
