Not necessarily. Engine can stop if aircon is on and the ambient temperature is cool enough to allow it to do so. On really hot days, engine will stay on. All to do with how hard the aircon compressor is working,
As an aside. Anyone notice how noisy the engine cooling fans are when you're standing outside near the car, engine running, on a hot day?
