I understand the battery pack ones especially are getting more popular . Kinda sorta a bit like cars with petrol-diesel versus hybrid-electric I suppose .

ive got a mate who uses all the sthil electric gear, he does landscaping and maintenance in mosman and the clients love how quiet it is, he said its not as good as the petrol gear but when trimming hedges for 8 hours you finish with no head ache, no fumes blowing into your face and his arms aren't sore, he said quite a few blokes in the area are using the gear now for those reasons, not to mention caring a electric mower down 200 odd stairs and through houses is much easier
