Another work colleague has a Golf 2L TDi 6-speed manual.
And it's a dream to drive as well ... on highways ... leave it in top gear ... and when you come to a hill ... just lean on the accelerator and let the torque do the work ... no need for downshifting really.
It's amazing when punting along in 6th with low revs ... and if you want to overtake ... just lean on it ... and it really responds.
