If you are looking for Chrome and a V8, then yes 70's Mercs are very affordable. They seem mostly to sell for what they are. Rather than the ridiculous premiums attached to old Fords, Holdens, and Yank Metal.
If I were to guess, I'd say its because there's less dreamers. There's undoubtedly a few collectors of old Mercs, but they would cherry pick the best and be done.
