I suggest you change the sump plug as advised by Ford. Makes it more expensive.
Or if you can find a metal aftermarket replacement, that would be be better. You just replace the washer(50 cents) instead of replacing the sump plug each time which costs 25$!
I've had my MC Mondeo for 5 1/2 years, and have re-used the sump plug and washer 30+ times. Still not leaking. Copper washer is starting to look a little worse for wear though
