ok brtf...IMO the 1.8 is so gutless its hurts the appeal of the car. I spend a day thrashing the bejesus out of one for work on a driving course and seriously, its painful.
Dont get me wrong, it handles superbly, the interior is ok. But yeah, go drive a laser before/after a 1.8 focus and see which one you like. I haven't driven a new laser but I have been in a 96 one and it had more balls than the focus.
I, not sure what a zetec goes like, but you would hope it was significantly better than teh 1.8. And dont even get me started on the clutch engagment point!
If I was you I would look at a laser lynx or a mondeo ST24. These two I was thinking about getting untill I found my falcon I have now.
