Wanted the wider track of the Raptor specifically. No denying it's probably about as good as it gets for a factory 4wd.
How many hills are you going to need low range for with near 400hp and ten normal gears?
I've done a heap of off roading in my RTV wagon, Hiluxs, Prados, Pajero Sport and the amount of times I've used or needed low range can be counted on one hand. (would be handy in the RTV for going down hills due first gear being so long)
I think it's a bit of a hang up from when 4wds had no power or brakes and you needed the lower gearing in steep environments.
