Agree.
Not sure if there is a statistic for it but I'd be curious to know if serious injuries/hospitalisation has increased as fatalities decrease. I would assume this to be the case. The number of accidents happening is unlikely to be less. People are surviving crashes that once would have killed them.
Failure to acknowledge improvements to vehicle safety in the reduction of fatalities is all about protecting revenue stream and justifying draconian policing.
