I can remember the oil embargo from opec to the usa in early 70's, that sent shockwaves around the world, added with petrol strikes here, this is what started off lpg conversions, taxi industry was the first to get on board.
I hated the petrol strikes in those days as there were no rationing at all, fist in best dressed.
