I’ve got two, they’re both red.

In the spirit of Jørn Utzon, I’m ignoring the budget upper limit. A motivated dealer should come to the party. Compact but with room for friends, a durable diesel/manual driveline, space for weekends away that parents don’t need to know about and not too thirsty. Parts supply out the wazoo, and equally suited to weekday activities as recreational driving.

My second nomination, an icon to the parents’ generation. Practical, cheery and frugal. In the spirit of non-binarity, it identifies as a both a car and a trauma-informed safe space. Convenient storage for the security blanket is included.
